It evoked the grandeur and elegant living of the gentry and wealthy merchant classes of Georgian Waterford. One of the earliest references to the ballroom was in 1792 when the mayor hosted a ball to raise funds to provide food and fuel for the poor of the city. /- [About Waterford Music • The History](https://www.waterford-music.org/about-history/): About & History: Waterford Music was founded in June 1942 for the promotion of chamber music, supporting local artists and inviting distinguished artists from worldwide to perform in Waterford.
