Tenor Dean Power brings you an evening of songs inspired by the Irish literary and musical tradition. He will sing settings of texts written by Yeats, Joyce and Wilde, as well as settings of Moore’s Melodies. The settings for these pieces were composed and arranged by James Hurley, who will be accompanying Dean on piano for the concert.
Dean Power is a graduate of the Bayerische Staatsoper Studio and was a member of the Bayerische Staatsoper Ensemble for nine years. He has now returned to his native Co Clare and has established himself as a solo tenor with a strong track record in operatic and choral repertoire. He has featured in many well-known operas, including Fidelio, Macbeth and Das Rheingold. Dean is also a seasoned concert performer, having performed in Carmina Burana, Schubert Mass in C, Mozart’s Requiem amongst others.
