Waterford Music is pleased to partner with the Symphony Club of Waterford to bring the Irish Chamber Orchestra to Waterford for a Mozart Homage concert. The Irish Chamber Orchestra is directed and led by violinist Katherine Hunka, who will be familiar to Waterford audiences from her performances with the Far-Flung Trio and previous Irish Chamber Orchestra performances.
This concert is in addition to our usual programme of five autumn concerts.
You’ll hear Mozart’s Divertimento, a brilliant exercise in youthful experimentation. You’ll also hear Schnittke’s theatrical and mischievously funny ‘Moz-Art à la Haydn, which showcases his extraordinary ability to fragment and reassemble diverse musical elements into his work. You’ll feel the exhilaration and adventure in Tchaikovsky’s homage to Mozart, the Serenade for Strings. The Irish Chamber Orchestra will also add in a few lovely surprises throughout the evening.
