Waterford Music will start its spring season in style, with a concert by The Lumière String Quartet. This concert is in association with The National String Quartet Foundation, who give audiences a chance to experience the cream of Irish string quartet talent. The Lumière Quartet will present three string quartets, by Hayden, Beethoven and the 18th century composer Maddalena Lombardini, as well as a short piece by contemporary Irish composer Donnacha Dennehy. The musicians will play on gut strings, rather than the more modern steel strings, which is sure to create a rich and pleasing sound.
