Waterford Music is honoured to present the Japanese piano virtuoso Yukine Kuroki, in association with Music Network. Yukine is a rising star in the world of piano, and is making her debut at the Wigmore Hall and Carnegie Hall during her 2024/25 season. Yukine began playing the piano when she was just three years old and made her orchestral debut at age seven. She has won many awards, including the Dublin International Piano Competition in 2022.
Yukine’s programme features classic pieces by Russian composers like Stravinsky and Rachmaninoff and introduces us to the Japanese composer Tokuyama. She will also play delightfully melodic music from Debussy and Liszt. As always, there will be a new Music Network commission, by Dr Fergus Johnston.
We are delighted to bring you a concert featuring a female soloist and to celebrate the achievements of women in music, just six days after International Women’s Day.
This concert has been designated the Evelyne O’Riordan Memorial Concert.
